| + | In this work, we present a package named aRT, which access the TerraLib GIS library within the R statistical software. TerraLib offers functions and data structures for building customized geographical applications. Its main objective is to provide a powerful environment for GIS development in a new generation of GIS, once it incorporates space-time support to conventional Database Management Systems (DBMS), for instance MySQL and PostgreSQL. R provides many functions statistical analysis in general, and specially analysis of geospatial data through contributed packages, for example point pattern, geostatistics, and spatial regression.
